Task for Grant Applicants

Ideate and Prototype Innovative Implementations for DMD Diamond’s Core Features

Objective: Design and prototype a dApp, tool, or protocol that leverages at least one (preferably multiple) of DMD Diamond’s core features—front-running prevention, instant transaction finality, on-chain random number generation, and dynamic block times—to create a novel solution that enhances the DMD ecosystem.

Task Details:

Feature Focus:

  • Front-Running Prevention: Utilize DMD’s cooperative block creation, random transaction shuffling, dynamic block times, and high block gas limits to prevent Maximum Extractable Value (MEV) attacks. Propose solutions that ensure fair transaction ordering, particularly for DeFi trading or NFT minting.
  • Instant Transaction Finality: Leverage HBBFT’s instant finality (transactions are irrevocable upon block creation) to enable real-time applications, such as high-frequency trading, instant settlement exchanges, or time-sensitive smart contracts.
  • On-Chain Random Number Generation: Use DMD’s integrated random number generation (available per block without external oracles) to create secure, verifiable randomness for applications like lotteries, gaming, or randomized NFT drops.
  • Dynamic Block Times: Incorporate dynamic block times (adjusting based on network conditions) to optimize transaction throughput and reduce latency in applications requiring adaptive performance, such as real-time gaming or supply chain tracking.

Deliverables:

Stage 1: Ideation

  1. Proposal Document (max 10 pages) or slide deck explaining the solution, its use of DMD features, and potential ecosystem benefits. (Highlight how the project promotes decentralization, fairness, or interoperability.)
  2. Describe the problem your solution addresses and how it leverages DMD’s features.
  3. Outline the technical architecture, including smart contracts, front-end (if applicable), and integration with DMD v4’s EVM.
  4. Specify the target use case (e.g., DeFi, NFTs, GameFi, interoperability) and expected impact on the DMD ecosystem.
  5. Provide a timeline (3–6 months) and budget estimate in USD, to be paid in DMD).

Stage 2: Proof-of-Concept:

  1. Develop a prototype or MVP (Minimum Viable Product) demonstrating the implementation on DMD v4’s testnet.
  2. Include sample smart contracts (in Solidity) and, if relevant, a basic front-end or CLI interface.
  3. Deploy the PoC on the DMD v4 open beta testnet 

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Innovation (30%): How creatively and effectively does the solution use DMD’s features to address a real-world problem?
  • Technical Feasibility (25%): Is the proposed architecture sound, and does the PoC demonstrate practical implementation on DMD v4?
  • Ecosystem Impact (25%): Does the solution enhance DMD’s adoption, utility, or interoperability in DeFi, NFTs, or other domains?
  • Community Alignment (20%): Does the proposal align with DMD’s decentralized, community-driven ethos, and is it feasible within the proposed timeline and budget?

Funding Range:

100$ for the selected proposal

1000$ for the PoC testnet demo

5000$ for on mainnet released and active for 6 months maintained (top 3 projects)

All payables are in DMD coins, based on a market rate


Grand Prix:

One full validator (10 000 DMD) for one chosen winner project after being active and maintained for 12 months on mainnet

Duration: 3–6 months, with milestones for PoC delivery.

Eligibility: Open to global teams, individuals, or organizations with blockchain development experience (Solidity proficiency preferred).

Upload the proposal document, PoC code (GitHub link), and presentation materials.


Submission: Submit proposals via Questbook.app or email, including all deliverables, by 1st of August, 2025.


Engage with the DMD DAO community on Discord for feedback during the evaluation phase.

The DMD Community will review proposals, stage 2 funding will be agreed upon based on the stage 1 winners.
